$100 and a dream

September 29, 2005 1 Comment

When a certain Professor saw the benefits, to children in Cambodian after they received laptops donated to them a light bulb turned on. Nicholas Negroponte, chairman and founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Labs, is this certain Professor and my new hero.
The Light bulb I’m referring to is the development of a simple laptop that costs less than $100. These Laptops will NOT be available for individuals but will be available for educational use for poor countries, specifically. If local and state officials from all over this country pass up this deal and not start purchasing these for their students of their corresponding states it would be an injustice to the children and the people. Hell this would be a great tool for the whole “no child left behind”, except for the fact that funding for school programs keep getting cut.
Features include:
power cord that doubles as a shoulder strap
body encased in rubber
can be a tablet.
crank to charge the battery if your low and not near an outlet.
Thinking about the future is important, mostly, I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.
